Our Story

About Kabiné

Kabiné (kah-bee-NAY) means “cabinet” or “fitting room” in French. It's a nod to the Francophone African cultural connection — and an invitation to step inside a curated space built just for you.

Our Mission

Kabiné is the marketplace for sustainable African brands. Fashion, beauty, home goods, art — all from creators across the African continent and diaspora, all in one place.

We believe in curation over volume. Every brand on Kabiné is handpicked for quality, sustainability, and cultural authenticity. No fast fashion. No mass production. Just intentional, beautiful things made by people who care.

The Founder

Joelle-Rehana, founder of Kabiné

Kabiné was founded by Joelle-Rehana, a Cameroonian-American entrepreneur who saw a gap: there was no single destination to discover quality African brands across fashion, beauty, home, and art.

“I wanted to create the platform I wished existed — a space where Africa's incredible creative talent gets the curated spotlight it deserves, across every category.”

What We Stand For

Curation Over Consumption

Every brand and product is intentionally selected. Quality over quantity, always.

Sustainability First

We prioritize brands that produce ethically, use sustainable materials, and care about their impact.

African Excellence

From Lagos to Nairobi, Accra to Dakar — we platform Africa's best creators with the respect they deserve.

More Than Fashion

Clothing, beauty, skincare, home goods, art, jewelry — Kabiné is a full lifestyle marketplace.
